Title: The club shall be called Winslow & District Fishing Club, hereinafter referred to as ‘the club’.
Objectives (of the Club)
To promote good fellowship amongst anglers.
To provide and maintain the fishery in agreement with the respective landowner, that are suitable to allow safe angling without detriment to the environment.
To foster and support the sport of angling at all levels within the district of Winslow and provide opportunities for recreational angling at all levels.
To cooperate with the Environment Agency.
Membership:
Annual membership shall be open to any person, unless previously barred by the committee, upon completion of an application form and payment of the appropriate current membership fee as set at the AGM. Membership will run from the date of application until the end of the current season (currently the final date in February). The lake is closed in March.
Classes of membership
Adult (18 -64 age inclusive) : Concessionary (65 and over) : Concessionary (Disabled) : Junior*** (17 and under).
*** The club offers free membership to encourage young anglers.
All juniors must be registered and accompanied by an adult member at all times.
Expulsion of Members
Members whose conduct is inappropriate or do not abide by the rules of the Club (as printed on membership licence) maybe be excluded at the sole discretion of the committee. Any such member has the right to appeal in person to the committee at a date convenient to both parties.
Club Officers: The officers of the club ‘the committee will consist of the following.
Chairman (who will have a casting vote in the event of a tied vote)
Vice Chairman
Secretary
Treasurer
Membership secretary
Match secretary
Fishery officer
Public Relations officer
Welfare & Safety officer
Committee members (including Bailiffs)
Election of Officers
All officers shall be elected at the AGM, from and by, the members of the club. All officers are elected for a period of one year, but maybe elected to the same office, or a different office, the following year. The committee may at any time during the year co-opt new or replacement officers to the committee for the remainder of the year.
General Committee
The affairs of the club shall be controlled by the clubs committee.
The committee will meet every 2 – 3 months.
Duties of the committee
To control the affairs of the club on behalf of its members.
To make decisions on behalf of the membership based on a simple majority vote
To keep accurate accounts of the clubs finances. They will be presented at each committee meeting. These records will be available for inspection by the clubs members. Two current members from three of the committee (Treasurer and Secretary and one other) will be authorised to sign cheques from the clubs bank account.
Annual General Meeting
An AGM will be held on the last Tuesday in February.
The AGM is advised on the clubs membership licence also notified on the clubs Website and Facebook page and on the clubs notice board at the lake.
Any proposals for the AGM must be in writing and lodged with club chairman or secretary 3 weeks prior to the AGM.
The AGM Agenda is presented at the time of the AGM.
The business of the AGM:
To confirm the minutes of the previous AGM and in the event any EGM held since.
Treasurer’s report for the previous year is presented to all the members present. The treasurer will advise the members the clubs income and expenditure in detail and advise the closing balance supported by a copy of the clubs bank statement at year end. Review membership fees for the coming year.
Reports for the year from all club officers.
Nomination for candidates of election of officers can be made in writing to the secretary or advised at the time of the AGM. Nominations can only be made by full members and must be seconded by a further full member.
Election of officers and the general committee for the coming year.
Discuss any proposals received (will be shown on the agenda).
AOB.
Decisions made at the AGM shall be made on a simple majority vote. The chairman in the event of a tie will have the casting vote. Each member of the club will qualify for one vote on any issue raised.

Any member’s personal data held by the club will be managed in accordance with the Government regulations.
